5 FAI World Records · Champion Touring Motorglider
The Altus is more than an aircraft — it is the culmination of decades of Hungarian engineering, aeronautical passion, and relentless pursuit of performance. Every curve is shaped by computational fluid dynamics and finished by hand.
Constructed entirely from premium carbon fibre, the Altus achieves an extraordinary balance between structural rigidity and minimal weight. The retractable electric engine disappears seamlessly into the fuselage, leaving only clean soaring lines.
DULV type certified and battle-tested across international FAI competitions, the Altus carries five world records — and the ambition to set more.
The story started in 2014 when we decided together with Omikron Dokk Kft. to build a low wing fuselage, as there was no modern touring motorglider on the market with good visibility and the required interior space and design.
After the first aerodinamical calculations it became clear, that it is possible to make a low wing motorglider which is stable and has friendly flight and stall caracteristics. eCon Engineering Kft. helped us with aerodinamical simulations and structural calculations. With the control of the civil aviation agency we went thru all ground load tests successfully, and Altus received the permit to fly in end of 2017. The taxi tests begun, and we lifted up first time in may 2018. These were small jumps, but always a little bit bigger. Then we started the higher altitude flights for the stability tests. Altus was so easy to fly, and so forgiving, that it was hard to get one wing dropped. All tests run smooth, so we started the long distance flights. This is what makes the most fun with Altus. The long wings are smoothing out the turbulences, we can fly long distances using only 5,5 liter petrol per 100 km. At one of the FAI world record we used only 43 liter for 1037 km with a maximum take off weight of 472 kg. Since the first flight Altus spent over 800 hours in the air and flown 5 FAI world records without a single problem, proving that our concept works. We tested the aircraft with so much pilots and students as we can, to get the most complex picture as possible about the desired properties. Now we have built the wings for higher G load and speed, which Altus deserves, with a new generation airfoil, designed for 600 kg MTOW. Also the cabin size is slightly increased to meet the demand. The real story will just begin now...
Airshows, soaring flights, and the hangar — captured moments from the life of the Altus.
The Altus has claimed five official FAI world records in the touring motorglider class — a testament to its exceptional aerodynamic efficiency and structural integrity.
Recognized by Europe’s most respected aviation publication, the Altus received the Flieger Magazin Award 2026 in the touring motorglider category — honouring innovation, engineering excellence, and record-breaking performance.

During the development phase and also today we cooperate with eCon Engineering Kft. In a recent project (KFI-112) they developed a 3D corrected Virtual Blade Model (3D-VBM) utilising Artificial Intelligence which accurately simulates the propeller induced flow and propeller-airframe interaction phenomena. Within this project CFD models were verified with in-flight test data showing a very good agreement. Altus is the perfect aircraft for calibrating and testing such CFD models and techniques, as we can fly with running or with stopped and feathered propeller. So, the propeller influence during flight test could be measured directly. Later on, the 3D-VBM and CFD models can be used to optimise the aircraft even further over its flight envelope.
